Employment Opportunities

The following are some of the fields an NDTR can work in:​

1. Clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, or research facilities: performing patient and client screenings, gathering data and doing other tasks in order to assist the RDN in providing MNT.

2. Day-care centers, schools, corporations or correctional facilities: supervising employees, purchasing and being involved in the preparation of food and overseeing the budgets of foodservice operations.

3. Women, Infants, Children (WIC) programs, Meals on Wheels and community health programs: aiding RDNs to integrate programs and presentations for the public.

4. Health clubs or community wellness centers: educating clients regarding the connection between food, health, and exercise.

5. Food companies or food vending and distributing operations: developing menus and overseeing foodservice sanitation as well as food safety.
